Initiation.

Thats what I’m really interested in.

Where the hell do ideas come from?

What is the thing that makes them happen?

What path does it take to come into existence?

If it is a physical phenomena, it must begin Nowhere.

When I say Nowhere I mean the philosophical Nowhere that only exists in our minds because I’m talking about it.  At some level a threshold is crossed and existence occurs.

What if you could zoom in and observe this event? If it were possible to walk the existential line as yourself and observe the initiating phenomena that induces a creative response, what would it look like?

I think the visual effect would be somewhere between images from the Hubble telescope and the highly romanticized 19th Century art of North America. If the sense of awe caused by viewing an image of the “Pillars of the Eagle Nebula” and the darkness yet positivity of James Abbot McNeil Whistler’s,  ”Nocturne in Black and Gold” could have a baby, then let us name it “Loud Cloud”.

Loud Cloud by Tanks

Aside from these drawings—this Loud Cloud idea has crossed over into my musical endeavors. My band, Tanks, will be releasing our new album “Loud Cloud” (available NOW on Spotify and iTunes)  this Saturday, July 7th at the Hi Tone Cafe in Memphis, TN along with our friends, Galaxicon.

Loud Cloud is a one track, 26 minute, heavy hitting progressive space rock epic that was recorded and engineered by Alan Burcham and produced by Brass Tracks studios in Memphis TN.

For more of Chuck’s art & design work please check out his Behance profile and for more on TANKS go see them this weekend with their dual release with Galaxicon.
